Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Welcome to Bhutan!
Arrive in Paro, Bhutan’s gateway to a world of cultural wonders and serene landscapes. After a warm welcome, transfer to the hotel in Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. Spend the afternoon exploring the vibrant city, visiting the iconic Buddha Dordenma statue and the National Memorial Chorten. In the evening, enjoy a cultural orientation session, introducing students to Bhutan’s rich history and traditions. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 2: School Visit and Cultural Exchange
Begin the day with a visit to one of Bhutan’s renowned schools. Here, students will engage in a collaborative exchange, participating in classes and activities with their Bhutanese peers. This is a unique opportunity to learn about Bhutan’s education system and share experiences. In the afternoon, visit the Tashichho Dzong, a fortress that houses the throne room of the King of Bhutan, followed by a visit to the Folk Heritage Museum. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3: Exploring Punakha – The Cultural Heart of Bhutan
Travel to Punakha, the ancient capital of Bhutan, via the scenic Dochula Pass, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, the most beautiful fortress in Bhutan, located at the confluence of the Pho and Mo Chhu rivers. In the afternoon, hike to the Chimi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the Divine Madman, and learn about its unique cultural significance. Overnight in Punakha.
DAY 4:Return to Paro – Paro Cultural Exploration
- Return to Paro and spend the day exploring the cultural and historical treasures of this charming valley. Visit the National Museum housed in Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery with beautiful architecture. In the afternoon, students will have the opportunity to engage in a hands-on traditional arts workshop, learning about Bhutanese crafts such as thangka painting or pottery. End the day with a reflection session on the learning and experiences gained during the trip. Overnight in Paro.
DAY 5: Departure from Bhutan – A Fond Farewell
After breakfast, visit the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, a pilgrimage site perched on a cliffside, offering a moment of reflection and inspiration. Afterward, transfer to Paro Airport for departure, taking with you unforgettable memories and valuable insights from this educational journey.
